West Hollywood Poster
This poster is an advertisement for West Hollywood in Los Angeles. The woman depicted is a personified version of the city, with blonde hair to represent glamour. She is also surrounded by a myriad of insects with pride flags on their wings, to represent the accepting nature of the city. The rainbow circle and dress also represent the LGBTQ+ community. The plants in the background are decorative, but the trees are oak leaves, which are common in southern California.

The process for this piece involved a lot of brainstorming, first beginning with a moodboard, then a mind map, and then several sketches and thoughts written down. Halfway through, the direction changed from a simple poster idea made in Adobe Illustrator to a personified watercolor portrait.
